Workshop: Skills, Jobs and Policies for a Resilient and Competitive Europe
28–29 January 2027, European Commission, JRC-Seville, Spain

The workshop seeks to advance understanding of how digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence and environmental imperatives are transforming the nature of work, the organisation of firms, the demand and supply of skills, and the design of labour-market, education and industrial policies. Particular attention will be devoted to the interaction between green and digital technologies, the emergence of new task profiles, job quality, workers’ well-being, wage inequality, regional disparities, the role of education policies and the governance of reskilling and lifelong learning.

The workshop is jointly organised by the European Commission Joint Research Centre Seville (B6 ‘Industrial strategy, skills and technology transfer’) and the RESKILL research group (reskill-research.eu).
