Methodology

This search engine allows the user to identify up to ten degree programmes that provide the skill combination (based on the ESCO framework) chosen by the user and conditional on the selected degree type (all programmes, Bachelor only, or Master only) and on the selected disciplinary areas according to the Italian classification (Arts, Humanities and Education; STEM; Health and Agri-veterinary Sciences; Economics, Law and Social Sciences). By selecting the green, digital or twin domain, the output reports the ranked selection of courses based on the relevance of green/digital/twin competences in the required skill combination, as well as a qualitative assessment of its standing among all green, digital, or twin courses at the national level (high, medium, or low ranking).  

To link courses and skills, we compared the textual description of each programme with the description of an ample set of skills. The description of university courses stems from the Scheda Unica Annuale (SUA, which was available from this website until the beginning of 2023: www.universitaly.it). The description of skills derives from the ESCO European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (https://esco.ec.europa.eu/en) repository.
